Members of the “Astronomy and Space Exploration” Zoom Group have an interest in learning together almost anything that is relevant to the subject area.

The founding members would all consider themselves enthusiastic beginners. The group does not have a resident “expert” on anything.

The group is held on Zoom, so a working knowledge of how to use a computer is required in order to join us. The u3a has an advice sheet on setting up Zoom if required.

The format for the group is usually:

1/ News related to astronomy or space exploration.

2/ Exploration of one or two specific topics.

3/ Plan the next meeting.

Members enjoy finding graphics that help us understand the topic we are looking at.

If members have a special interest we happily add it to the topic list from which future Zoom sessions are drawn.

It is useful and fun if members are willing to share in researching any chosen topic between meetings and bring what they have discovered to the next session for others to enjoy.

Occasionally there may be an invited speaker.

We welcome anyone who has a new interest in the subject and is happy to learn alongside us.

Members with an established interest, or knowledge area that they would like to share with us, are also very welcome.

For more information, please contact the Group Co-ordinator.
