Art Appreciation

Status:Active, open to new members
When: On Thursday afternoons 2:15 PM-4:15 PM
2nd Thursday of the month
Venue: Bucknell Village Hall

The Art Appreciation group is for anybody who enjoys the visual arts in any form, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, architecture, textiles or ceramics.

We meet on the second Thursday of the month at Bucknell Village Hall. Typically, we might:

  • Hear a talk by one of our members on a topic that interests them.
  • Watch a DVD on an art-related subject.
  • Show and tell on a picture or object.

Always followed by tea and biscuits and a natter!

We also arrange visits to exhibitions and galleries in and around our area. To see a list of all our past meetings, click here.

You don’t need to be any kind of art expert or artist to join us, you just need to have an interest in the visual arts. Of course, if you are an expert, we’d also love to hear from you!

Likewise, you don’t have to give a talk to the group if you don’t want to. Members can also contribute by putting out chairs, making tea or coming up with ideas for meetings. However, if you decide you do want to give a talk, we’re here to support you if you’re not familiar with putting a presentation together.

We’re a very welcoming group, so if you’ve any interest in art, please get in touch with us via the Group Co-ordinator.
