The aim of the group is to build on the French we have learned in the past, mostly at school and through the occasional holiday in the French-speaking countries. Our focus is on developing confidence in speaking colloquial French rather than on formal grammar.

Conversation will range from everyday subjects to sharing recent events in our lives, such as holidays, visits to the cinema and theatre, and experiences in France and elsewhere. As a group, we aim to speak French for most of each meeting, supporting one another with vocabulary and verb tenses whenever needed.

We are always happy to explore topics suggested by members. We do not use textbooks, as the emphasis is on natural conversation and practical language use.
